TK-Doc

The TK-Doc app offers an easy way to contact the TK-MediCall doctors using your smartphone – no matter whether you are after general medical advice on health topics such as diseases, treatments and surgical procedures or whether you need one-on-one remote consultation including a statement of fitness for work.

The Symptom Checker tool helps you get an idea of what medical conditions you may be dealing with based on the symptoms you enter, while the Lab Result Checker gives you information about many of the results of your blood or urine tests.

For data privacy reasons, this app is only available to TK insurees aged 16 and up.

The TK-Doc app offers the following functions:

• Medical advice: The app provides general answers to your medical questions. You have access to more than 80 doctors who specialise in around 30 different fields of medicine. You can ask your medical question quickly and easily using the live chat, and you can also share documents such as medical reports or prescriptions with the doctor. Alternatively, you can book a video appointment with a doctor and discuss your concerns live in a face-to-face consultation. This function is available Mondays to Fridays from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. You can also get telephone advice round the clock 365 days a year.

• TK-OnlineSprechstunde [TK-OnlineConsultation]: This is the first fully digitised service that focuses exclusively on remote treatment. You can use video telephony to get medical treatment for illnesses such as flu-like infections, back pain and diseases of the upper respiratory tract. The doctors consider each case individually to decide whether your symptoms can be treated remotely. Besides diagnosing your symptoms and recommending suitable treatment, you can also have the doctor issue a statement of fitness for work if necessary.

• Symptom Checker: No matter whether you are running a temperature, have a headache or are suffering from any other symptoms – the Symptom Checker gives you information about the diseases that could be causing your symptoms in no time at all. Just answer a series of questions, and the tool will generate a list of diseases that match your symptoms most closely. This will give you a better idea of your health problems and enable you to prepare for your doctor’s appointment.

• Lab Result Checker: You can use this self-assessment tool to check whether your lab results are too high or low. It can tell you which medical conditions may be causing abnormal values, which other lab values are important in this context, which measures may have to be taken, and much more.
